Building in a building – Bastrop, TX

’66 Airstream – Nevada City, CA
Shell-off renovation of 1966 Airstream Stripped to the frame and replaced everything. Ready for reattaching the shell Frame built into stripped interior shell to facilitate lifting. Temporary shelter and workspace Patches and upgrades Modified antique sink to fit under windows on a steel frame Some exotics to play with. And yes, the purple is natural. My version of an Airstream “gaucho” convertible bed/sofa On-demand water heater, water pump and furnace hidden in cabs new fridge installed in sealed inclosure. Tub riser in back. Massive power storage for solar, new fresh water tank under bed. Copper clad ceiling in bathroom. This is all we could finish before the owner put the rig in use.
Mile High Cabin – Arcata, CA
The exterior shell of this cabin was completed before I had the chance to help finish the interior. Built the loft, frame, flooring, stairs and hand railing. Ceiling materials milled onsite. More than 600 sq.’ of open, main floor space. I installed the wainscoting, window trim, and flooring. Beautiful trim on some massive windows. A view that never gets old.
Shade and gate – Las Cruces, NM
Frame was built into existing masonry. Lapped 1 x 8 cedar for 100% shade. Custom gate made onsite.
Japanese garden – Austin, TX
Clear doug fir canopy bed; arched bridge over water feature. Inlayed stones on pathway just off a 450 sq.’ deck (not shown) Repurposed sentimental deck chair with shade to match bed.
Superior log house – Missoula, MT
Installed acres of knotty pine on ceilings and walls. Two stories under a massive vaulted ceiling. Lots of climbing! Ceiling complete and on to the gables. Trimmed windows. Second floor bedroom .
Shoal Creek screened patio – Austin, TX
Replaced existing aluminum patio cover with a screened room. Cut back the eave to raise the ceiling to 8′. Tinted polycarbonate ceiling.
Shoal Creek deck and pergola – Austin, TX
Started as an 8′ x 30′ deck with 12′ x 32′ pergola (Photos taken before final paint touch-up) Then the owner asked to span the pool. “gets too hot to swim”
